We love this oven. We did read the review regarding the odor resulting from the initial start up of the appliance. Easy to use, great control display. I was not planning to spend this much but we are very happy with the appliance. We appreciated that information and as a result we did the start up outdoors, and performed it 4 times. The result was NO ODOR on subsequent use.If you can spend the $$ this is a great appliance
I am having to remember to reduce my cooking times because everything cooks quickly. I don't have a problem with the door sticking.
I love this convection toaster oven. It heats instantly and cooks evenly.
I don't cook big meals so I just needed something smaller. The directions stated to wipe the inside and outside of oven which I did.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the coating on the grill pan has already started to scratch after 5 uses. I didn't have any trouble with my appliance smoking with the first few uses.
Also there is no need to use the door to move the appliance because there are handles on other side of the toaster oven. I look forward to having it a long time.
This is the best oven I have ever bought. I actually purchased 3 units for my family. You can finally get rid your microwave. This can cook dinners, be used as a toaster and reheat food quickly.
After about a month, the timer function on the toaster would sporadically lock up about 1 out of 3 times; so the only way to turn off the oven was to unplug it. I think Krups should replace this oven, but who am I.Bottom line is don't waste your money on Krups.Update (6/7/09): After 7 weeks of waiting I received this toaster oven back and IT WAS A DIFFERENT, LESSER, MODEL. I bought this oven from Amazon last November thinking that paying 3 times the price of a typical toaster oven would give me a high quality product. I sent this oven to a service center in Florida over 5 weeks ago for repair/replacement and still have not received it back. I called Krups multiple times to no avail. Second the oven door would not close all the way, every time you closed the door it would open up about ½ an inch.To have the oven serviced, you have to send it in to an authorized Krups service center. The 2nd time I called (1 week ago) they told me they were waiting on parts.
I immediatedly called the service center and they emailed a UPS return label so I could ship it back. I was wrong. the one I received back did not have the 6 preset functions; only a start/stop button. Apparently, Krups does not service their own products. I have called the service center twice, the 1st time (after 3 weeks) I was told they had not gotten to it yet. Four weeks later I receive the oven back, apparently they decided to replace the control panel with one that had the preset functions.I went without this fancy toaster oven for a total of 11 weeks (almost 3 months). Never ever buy, or recommend, Krups to anyone.
Then it started working again no problems for about 4 weeks. Bought in January 2009 had it for a couple of weeks and then it stopped working. Until now, and I can not return it now and I have to send it back to Krups to fix it. It either just died or continued toaster even though the timer stopped and the only way to stop it was to unplug it. That is a fire hazard. What am I suppose to do with out a toaster. For a $200 toaster you would think it should work for the first couple of months with out problems.
